Someone had a off the charts Oscar party! That is so the way to do it. My girls and I in college used to do all this stuff all the time. I really miss it! VMA parties were always the best! This is all in Santa Barbara too which makes it ten times better. OUtdoor parties especially, the weather is always so perfect for stuff like that! I'll have to plan a trip to go back to Goleta and Santa Barbara and see some friends, it's been way too long! I'll probably stay at the South Coast Inn (www.goleta-hotel.com). Elegant and quaint. Really can't skip out on that.

As a Bourbon Trail passport holder (my mom lives less than 20 miles from Jim Beam) I am truly impressed with your article - spot on. My wife has a degree in enology/viticulture so I'm forced to go on a lot of wine tastings. My revenge is when I get back to Kentuckiana to ride the Bourbon Trail. For xmas I got a fun Bourbon making kit instead of the usual bottle so I believe "Ole Dan'l's Double-Barrel Bourbon" is the only candidate for a spot on The Santa Barbara Bourbon Trail ;)
